A group of Muslim leaders says they are disappointed with government decision to allow people to marry non-Muslims

ANNA TURDIN: Ana Turdin, a political scientist and writer, has written a column in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica criticizing the government’s decision to recognize a group of Muslims who marry non of them, as it violates a 2009 ruling from the Constitutional Court that was upheld in Italy.

Turdins letter states that the government is not only violating the right to marriage, but also the rights of the people who are not Muslims.

Turstins column comes on the heels of another column written by Muslim women in Italy, who also criticized the government for recognizing the same group of women who married non-Muslim men, as the same people who were forced to change their religion.
